By the way, official portraits of all the Secretaries since 1849 hang on  the walls of the 6th Floor of Main Interior. Next time I&#039;m there, I check out Stuart and see if he looks like this photo - or Joseph.

Secretary Carl Schurz who served 1877-81, bore a striking resemblance to my first boss at Interior, beard and all. Occasionally, and mysteriously, Shurz&#039;s portrait would be moved to be near my old boss&#039;s office. That&#039;s what we do for laughs in the bureaucracy. No time for grand conspiracies.]]></description>
