John P. Lillywhite of Utah arrived in Rotterdam late in 1920 to assume the presidency of the Netherlands Mission. He quickly took stock of the assets and liabilities of a mission still struggling to recover from the effects of World War I. And what did he count on the “asset” side of the ledger?

“We also have a number of local lady missionaries who are giving their spare time to missionary work such as distributing books and tracts and in fact are preaching the gospel wherever and whenever they have an opportunity.”
