Venus in Tahiti: Bonus Photo

By: Ardis E. Parshall - June 23, 2013

The installments for this week and last record Venus’s many-weeks-long visit to Takaroa, one of the islands in the Tuamotu group. While there, Venus and Ernest stayed in the home of Mapuhi and Ruita, a home Venus describes in great detail.

That home can be seen in the background of this 1921 photo, taken after the Rossiters had left the islands. I do not know the people in this picture; it is possible that Mapuhi and Ruita are here, but I cannot identify them.

  1. It’s nice to see pictures.

  2. I don’t remember if this was mentioned, but they returned for a 2nd term as mission president in 1941-1944.
