Take What You Can

By Christie Lund Coles

Take what you can of simple things –
Let each day’s dreams be such
That though they sometimes skim the stars,
They wear the common touch.

Take what life gives of every day:
The loving glance, the friendly tone,
You’ll wish someday you’d treasured these
And left the moon alone.
