Ardis Will Be Out Awhile But is Hoping to Be Back Soon

By: Amy Tanner Thiriot - March 19, 2013

[Update: Doing much better now. Thanks for all your well-wishes.–AEP]

Ardis is feeling under the weather and will need to take a break from blogging for a while. She’s built an enjoyable and educational community at Keepa and she’s a valuable member of the Mormon historical community and a good friend, and we do hope she’ll be feeling better and can return to her normal activities soon. She could use your kind thoughts and prayers in her behalf.

She sends a note that she appreciates the sentiments her friends have sent and apologizes for not replying to each personally. She also notes that she’d appreciate your support for access to medical care, regardless of whether an employer provides health insurance.

While she is resting and getting better, here are some suggestions for your daily dose of history and Mormon culture:

• Read today’s guest post about the amazing Lorna Call Alder (1906-1913) and leave a comment for author Barbara Jones Brown or ask any questions you may have.

• Explore Keepa’s past content in the Topical Guide. (See top left corner of the blog.) Scroll down to “Latter-day Saint Lives” for some excellent stories.

• View some of this week’s broadcast of the genealogy conference RootsTech streaming live from Salt Lake City on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. See the schedule and broadcast at the RootsTech website.

• Explore some of the blogs in Keepa’s sidebar.

  17. Ardis, take care of yourself, and get better. And know that I am a firm supporter of some sort of universal health care. I’ve seen too many folks slip through the safety net in health care, and it is not pretty. Glad you got yours, but it is reprehensible that you had to go so long without it.
