I hope someday my life will be filled with more times when I see the blessings than the vinegar in life. Some times it has been harder than others, but with practice I might get close by the time I am 50.

About 6 years ago, my first husband and I had just split up, and I realized I didn't like the woman I had become being married to him. On my 30th birthday, I made a deal with myself and my Heavenly Parents. I would assume that everything that happened would have some lesson or greater good that could come from it, and instead of trying to pray problems away, I would pray for the ability to see things with a Heavenly Perspective.

At the time, if I could see the next 6 years, I don't know what the 30 year old me would have done. Even going through hell, I have been able to see things differently, and I have reached the point where I assume trials will be for my benefit. I have a long ways to go, but the confirmation of the spirit, that I will get there some day, becomes clear in stories like this.

Thank you Ardis. I have had a couple of doozies the last few days, and while I have kept that eternal perspective. It has not been easy. I needed this extra reminder.
