Yeah, too wrapped up. Everyone became one dimensional. Couldn’t David go to the wedding before his mission, without the romantic end for Joanna? That seemed the most contrived part.

She drove three blocks to the hospital??? What on earth is wrong with those people out in Utah!?!

Other than that, what everybody said. The ending was a little too fast–I don’t mind “neat” but this was “neat, with a vengeance.”

You had me through episode 10, Joanna, and then the aliens abducted you, and replaced you with a pod person. Now in this episode, the UN and their black helicopters are sending some kind of coded message to somebody…or perhaps the editors at the RS Magazine gave the author an ultimatum about wrapping up this story in the right way. Good reading right up until the end, when all nuance and interesting characterization went out the window.

Well, that wrapped everything up, and the last three paragraphs confirmed what we already knew: that this is a story from the Relief Society Magazine. : )

Thanks for the series, Ardis. Despite my criticisms of the author, I enjoyed reading.
