Guy, the photo was published in an issue of the Improvement Era of 1944. It’s possible that there may have been a tiny bit of additional information in an accompanying caption, but I don’t preserve that when my purpose is chiefly to find interesting photos of Saints in interesting places. Sorry.

There were a lot of Willises and Guthries in North Carolina. I wonder how many of the other women were born either a Willis or a Guthrie.
