The first time “miller” showed up it wasn’t capitalized, so I read it like Johnny meant it. (Besides that, it makes a lot more sense in context reading it that way rather than as a name — it was an explanation of why they were staying behind.) Then later when Rose Ella asked about “Johnny Miller” it took me a moment to figure out how she came up with that as a last name.

As soon as Isaac mentioned going to the mill, it was obvious what was going to happen, and I had a hard time believing Rose Ella didn’t immediately see that the millers would be at the mill.

Other than that, it was a cute story. :)
