I will grant that this probably gives a pretty accurate picture, at least in terms of economic hardship and isolation, of these remote farming communities at the time. But really, Linda should have looked a little closer before she married Henry. Not that he is a bad guy, but things seem to be so stacked against a successful marriage. Linda and Henry don’t seem to be “equally yoked” here, and don’t seem to have all that much in common. And Mel is just plain creepy. Correlation must have been somewhat inspired by all these weird serials.
