		<description><![CDATA[I haven&#039;t dived into one of these serials lately, so I am going to give this a try.

But first, we&#039;ve already seen  a bunch of stereotypes:

Orphaned young girl, deeply in love, but torn by decision she seems incapable of making for herself, so she looks for a Man to help her make the decision.

Love or career?  It doesn&#039;t get much more basic than that.

Kindly Uncle Peter with his own secret tragedy, that, alas, has distilled upon him the blessings of wisdom like the petals that fall from the pear tree in the moonlight on Blue Hill.  Or something like that.

These serials are the one place where I can have some fun with presentism without too much guilt.]]></description>
