That surely is Elder Callis and on his right is Elder Stephen Richards of the Twelve in the Virgina picture. In the Wales picture that is Elder Widtsoe of the Twelve

Clark, since the missionary pictures would probably have been taken at conferences, as the only times large groups of elders would have been together, it seems likely that the mission president and even other authorities might have been there, too. Maybe we should have a contest to Spot The Leader in group pictures — you would surely be one of the winners!

Now that my flippant snarkiness is out of my system…

It seems half the missionaries in W. Va. are sisters. I didn’t realize there were so many so early in our history. (Or maybe they all went stateside, as there are none in the Welsh, German, or Swedish photos.) There is however, a Widsoe in the Welsh photo and a gentleman that looks suspiciously like Elder Callis in the front row of the Virginia photo 4th from right.

There apears to be something odd in the perspective of the Dimond Ward San Francisco Stake
Sunday School. It is almost like the first few rows are standing higher than the back rows. Maybe on a terrace or reverse steps hidden by the crowd.
