It probably helped that Kim shuddered at the idea of his wife having to come to him for money, instead of taking that as the natural result of his being the provider and head of the house.

I think all that is interesting and reflects the date of this story&#039;s publication -- 1969 -- when those may have been real questions for many marriages. I&#039;m glad this story reflects the progressive edge of those questions.]]></description>
