Mount Rushmore of the East, 1986

By: Ardis E. Parshall - May 24, 2012

After reading yesterday’s post about Sister Cuthbert, a Keepa’ninny who, for the present, wishes to remain anonymous, sent in this photo taken at a September 1986 Regional Conference in New York City. That’s Derek A. Cuthbert on the left, standing next to Neal A. Maxwell, then our anonymous friend, with of course Gordon B. Hinckley on the right.

  1. The anonymous friend was the current stake president of the NY NY Stake at the time. I cannot remember his name, but might if given enough time…

  3. Well, don’t out him, SouthernMan, if his name comes to you, but write to me (AEParshall [at] aol [dot] com) and I’ll congratulate you if you’re right!

  4. In case it matters to Michael K. Young, who was president of the New York New York Stake in 1986, I should note that SouthernMan’s designation is almost right, but does omit a key word in the name of the stake.
