My guess, based on the long bizarre trail this story has taken, is that Gloria, now having discovered the diamonds, will trade them all for some magic beans to plant in her garden (actually, she will invest them all in the stock market, and lose it all in the crash of 1929. Same thing).

Seriously, is there anyone who hadn't figured out that the gourds were full of diamonds?

One other prediction: One-Eye Claire will discover that the Haven boy who lost his nose in the Spanish American War in the other Ivy Stone saga, has lost his wife, will marry him, and raise a brood of one-eyed noseless children devoted to growing hybrid genetically altered gourds with diamonds for seeds, and live happily ever after.

I'm unaccountably reminded of the classic Peanuts strip where Snoopy is typing the first lines of his novel:
“It was a dark and stormy night. Suddenly, a shot rang out! A door slammed. The maid screamed. Suddenly, a pirate ship appeared on the horizon! While millions of people were starving, the king lived in luxury. Meanwhile, on a small farm in Kansas, a boy was growing up.”

On the edge of my seat waiting to see what bizarre thing she'll do with the diamonds...I daren't even guess.

It just occurred to me that the only mention of the gospel in this whole serial was the excuse to get Gloria from South Africa to the US. Other than that, it's just a morality tale on the trials you'll face if the church is not central in your life. kevinf was right, this would make the correlation committee tremble in terror.

Diamonds! I knew it!

Is it just me, or is the internal timeline kind of whack? Gloria must be about 60 now, but this episode describes her as "still young". And who knows how old Aunt Catherine is!
