Preston Temple Pageant, 2013

By: Ardis E. Parshall - May 10, 2012

The First Presidency and the Council of the Twelve Apostles have approved the performance of an official Church pageant at the site of the Preston England Temple in 2013. It will be the first official Church Pageant ever staged outside of North America. The Pageant itself will be an original work with an original script, but the story will be the story of the Saints of these islands and their faith in the unfolding drama of the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Church of Jesus Christ. We want as many young people – Youth and YSA – from all parts of the United Kingdom and Ireland – as is practical and possible to take part in the Pageant. We will need a cast of many hundreds and a support crew in all kinds of areas of activity to match. Watch this space.

  1. Yet another reason for me to be in the UK next year…

  2. Cool. Of course this is the first official church pageant, but I’m aware that the Taipei 7th Ward (English speaking) has been performing a Christmas pageant for the public every year for the past 12 years (could be 11 or 13…). But it’s a “local” pageant, not a “church” pageant to be sure.

  3. This is so awesome! I literally jumped for joy when I read it. I think there should be a Keepa Group that goes together. We could take in the history of the area AND the pageant.
