That was one of the incongruities for me, too, charlene -- how could anybody so blind to his surroundings build a conservatory (even if you allow for his first wife being responsible for the house decor)? How could someone be that keen on acquiring more land that he is so attentive to dates and details, yet not be concerned about the waste to his property? Well, if the plot demands it, logic be banned!

This author does a good job describing a dysfunctional family. Too much happening in this episode to bring in Gloria's mother and brothers. She didn't even take time to mention pregnancies and children much beyond their births.

I'm amazed that visionary Mr. Whitman was able to gather such a fortune in the short time before his marriage to Gloria.

Diamonds! And too good to be true Gloria needs to keep them all for herself and her new babies. I am expecting Jason Whitman's visionary streak to bring him to a bad end and soon. No mention of Gloria's mother and brothers, either. At least no racist language this time, other than the "K" word once.
