Truth’s Message
Truth’s Message
By Weston N. Nordgren
Through Joseph Smith the ages spoke.
The voice of God men’s spirits woke;
Again Christ gave the battle call –
Redemption’s victory o’er the fall.
Clothed with the Priesthood Joseph rent
The shrouds of ignorance, and sent
Abroad the glorious message clear –
“Salvation is to all who hear!
To all who follow God’s command
In righteousness, and faithful stand!”
(1930)

Timely poem, due to a controversy that’s being discussed with great emotion throughout the Bloggernacle.
I’ve mentioned behind the scenes that I wanted to write some guest posts for Keepa for Black History Month, but haven’t had time this month. The story of the early black members of the church is both inspiring and heartbreaking, and we should know the stories of these early Saints including Elijah Abel, Jane James, Green Flake, Marinda Redd Bankhead, Alex Bankhead, Venus Cupid and Faithful John.
