Women of Faith in the Latter Days, Vol. 1 : eBook and Bonus Content Available

By: Ardis E. Parshall - February 01, 2012

Deseret Book has now made the eBook version (DB’s own platform; not Kindle) of Women of Faith in the Latter Days, Vol. 1 available for download at $19.22.

The bonus content is also available for download as a .pdf file, free (for the time being; I don’t know if that is to be a permanent thing). The site seems to be overwhelmed at the moment — I had to try several times before connecting, although once I did connect it downloaded rapidly.

Bonus content includes chapters on 17 additional women (expanding the number of stories in the paper version by half!):

Diantha Morley Billings / Catherine Wheelwright Ockey
Catherine Clark Smith Harrison / Linda G. Birch
Myra Mayall Henrie / Donna Toland Smart
Zina Baker Huntington / Rachel Cope
Elizabeth Lane Hyde / Elizabeth J. Mott
Mary Ann Price Hyde / Kaye Watson
Presendia Lathrop Huntington Kimball / Gary L. Boatright Jr.
Phebe Crosby Peck Knight / Janiece Johnson
Mary Elizabeth Rollins Lightner / Jonathan A. Stapley
Gwenllian Matthew Marley / Amanda Kae Fronk
Mary Ann Weston Maughan / Wendy Peacock
Margaret Ann Howard McBride / Anna T. Rolapp
Laura Clark Phelps / Carol L. Clark
Mary Presdee Phillips / Jay G. Burrup
Martha Pane Jones Thomas / Amy Reynolds Billings
Margaret Cooper West / Shirley Smith Ricks and Lynette Smith Lyman
Elizabeth Ann Smith Whitney / Jan De Hoyos Tolman

My review of the paper book can be found here. If you’ve been hesitant for any reason to invest in a copy of this book, reading the bonus chapters may very well convince you of the value of this interesting collection of biographies and life writings.

  2. Yea, thank you for posting this! I’ve been looking forward to having it, and I’ve got a few plane rides coming, so this was perfect timing. I just downloaded the book with no delays.

Did you notice that the website has a link to your review?

  4. Thank you. I’d checked a couple of times but the additional material hadn’t been there yet.

What a beautiful production! And not just beautiful; a substantive historical work as well.
