I loved this story. Even tho it became obvious early on what was going to happen, I think it is good for us to reflect on the nativity story and if telling it with a modern twist makes it more meaningful to someone, then that is good.

I miss the Relief Society magazine.

I caught the symbolism in the names, also. And I chuckled over the car shaking with ague. It was very descriptive of the old car. Fun story. I was afraid that Elise wouldn’t come around until after the baby was born.

This was nice. I guessed where it was going, then was afraid it wouldn’t get there. And I can guess what the baby’s name will be.

I like that the car “shook with ague”. Ague is malaria. Bad shape for a car.

Very sweet. And even dense me caught the symbolism in the names! Also, although some previous stories had characters who pulled somewhat unrealistic 180s in their attitudes, Elise’s seems more plausible.
