And, when I read yesterday of someone’s clothing that in (the present tense) just “lay there” ["What did it lay? An egg?" while trying not to think of that scene in chapel in The Catcher in the Rye], and when I later learned that anti-Mormon literature grew up in Pennsylvania, I was tempted to spout some other obscenities.
