The baby magically turned white! It’s a Christmas miracle! This comic is definitely a sign of its time. I’m so thankful folklore like this isn’t spread from the pulpit anymore.
Don’t you think the cartoonist was quite skillful in how he conveyed that idea without actually saying it? I mean, if you didn’t know that questionable idea already, you’d completely miss the significance of that “glow” around the baby’s head, wouldn’t you?
