Because I teach the Family History Class and go to the Gospel Essentials Class when my class is not being held,I love to read your lessons. My husband and I went home teaching to a family this afternoon where we discussed the Articles of Faith. One of the things that was discussed a lot was how we have the same organization as the primitive church--which fits right in with Ephesians 4:11. So it was interesting to read your lesson which included that same wording.

Thank you. I was home from church today since my youngest was running a fever (poor Sunbeam missed saying his line in the primary program, but I won't tell him that) so it is nice getting a Sunday School lesson from you. Lots of things to think about in this one. I'll answer one of your questions, since that is about the most I'd do if I ever made it to Gospel Doctrine:

If you kept this idea in the front of your mind – that your calling is a gift from God contributing to the perfecting of the saints – how might that affect the way you perform your calling?

That's a lot of pressure! I was assigned last week as visiting teacher for a new sister in the ward, and when I talked to her last week after church, I had to start by explaining what visiting teaching was. It's rather an intimidating task to think that I could be one of her first ongoing contacts with a member of the church.

Shoot, I was interested to see how you tackled "3. Unity between husband and wife and between parents and children." but you pretty much just breezed on past.

I guess that's a better approach than our teacher took, she used it as a defense of the gender roles as stated in the Proclamation in the Family.
