Shocking that a church publication would feature not only a married woman cavorting with single men and swearing, but now we have “lively betting and speculations!” Has Keepa no shame in reprinting this moral slagheap?

Helen’s natural cowboy (excuse me, cowgirl) genes make me wonder why I didn’t get my Grandfather’s farmer genes. Although I still have his old farmer jeans, as in a pair of denim overalls that I wear when doing really dirty work.

Fun, though. Apart from a couple of continuity issues, like Tess’s suddenly missing telephone, I’m still enjoying this one, and not in a sarcastic way. Go Helen! Cowboy up!

Within weeks of her first experience with a horse, Helen is competing in a rodeo. That’s one talented woman! Most folks can barely walk for a few days after their first ride. Oh, wait, I forgot – her dad was a cowboy, so she comes by her skill genetically.

Lots of loose ends to connect in the final 2 chapters.
