When I was a small child, I used to confuse President McKay with Marlin Perkins of Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom. Maybe this is why.

Our family joined the church when I was about nine years old — in 1967. David O. McKay was fading then, but I still saw wonderful pictures of this man with wavy white hair. So impressive to a kid.
This is a great picture!

In the biography of Spencer W. Kimball by his son and grandson there is a similar picture of President and Sister Kimball and Koala.
President Kimball appears much more reserved in his picture but in many ways his personality wasn’t as outgoing as President McKay’s.
In any case ,in my humble opinion the two greatest and most influential presidents of the church in 20th century were President McKay and Kimball
