“Yes, our last one handled china like Japan.”

That’s painfully true for 1936, and was to become much worse a year later. Japan had invaded Manchuria in 1931, and was to move into China proper a year later.

I’d hope that a few years later the editors would have tossed that one as too awful.

How far can a cat spit? That’s hilarious, and perhaps partly because I have a kid who tends to come up with some doozies like that.

And, oh my, the Scotchman returns to the pages of the Funny Bones. That brings up, once again, the question of whether I, as a descendant of that particularly frugal race, should be amused or offended. : )
