Methinks the Friend of today would never include a devil costume. Then again, there aren't too many kids named Bobby and Shirley today, either.

I was often a gypsy in the ’60s. Got to wear lots of jewelry, and a full skirt, and a bolero (loved boleros) with lots of silver and gold and black rickrack, and a headscarf. Gypsy had princess beat, in my book!

The details are interesting: What’s with the faces all over the devil costume? Is that just what archetypal Devil in that era looked like? Ditto the witch’s hair being light yellow.

Gypsy also seems like a weird choice if you’re thinking top 4 Halloween things. Of course today it would be a Princess of some kind.
