#6, it’s a trick question isn’t it? How often can one drive that fast on California’s highways?

I always suspected Brother Brigham as trying to reinvent Mormonism at least one more time, but died before he could accomplish it all. I think his Arizona temple was going to have 10 spires, just to trounce upon the 6 spires of the SLC temple.

Mark N., given the perpetual construction on 99 in Stockton, I think they’d all do better to wait for a temple to be built somewhere around Modesto.

Five Mormons have finished a temple session at the Sacramento Temple at 11:00 AM, and are driving south in a van on highway 99 at 65 MPH.

Four Mormons have finished a temple session in Fresno and are driving north in a Honda on highway 99 at 60 MPH.

Where and when will they meet up?

This is not quite — but almost — as wacky as it sounds. Brigham had just resigned from active involvement in running ZCMI and other Mormon businesses, but of course he wasn’t relinquishing his position in the Church. He also was planning, and soon made, a trip to northern Arizona.

So — connect two dots that weren’t meant to be connected, throw in a little imagination and a strong dose of wishful thinking, and voila.
