I’ll have to say that Teichert’s painting of the pioneers is better in the original colors than in this reproduction, but what a beautiful picture, and what an image of faith.
As a two-color cover (the only color printing process available in Salt Lake for mass distribution in 1936), I didn’t think the cover was that bad. You youngsters are the teeniest bit spoiled!
But happy Pioneer Day nonetheless.

And yes, the mag cover doesn’t do the original painting justice.
