Interesting with the explosion of “Mormon” art in the last two decades, that the painting have been almost exclusively of the New Testament and Church History. I wonder if a Greg Olsen or a Walter Rane or Liz Lemon Swindle, etc. will ever tackle some of these Old Testament themes. Then again, it’s hard to compete with Michalangelo…

As Orson Whitney and S.W. Kimball have said, we’ll yet have our Miltons and Shakespeares, and I assume that extends into art, as well.

Some of these — like Anne’s Turner — must be spectacular in color. Even in the black-and-white forms familiar to our grandparents, some of them are amazing.

Hunter, so far I have embedded 231 images into the 50 chapters of Genesis, and I keep finding more. There won’t be so many iconic moments in many of the following books, but the number of artists who have taken on the Bible is legion.
