A page I like from the March 1924 Children’s Friend with another set of great period graphics. Nothing here about appearance, or transfats, or BMI, only a recognition that health is its own reward:
I’m guessing, Hunter, that with the picture including little girls watching from a distance, that one was probably a relay race — maybe they had to set the bottles or bowling pins or whatever they are down with enough dexterity not to have them fall and knock the others out of the hoop.
