I am sitting here at the computer facing Ron’s old office in the C o C (RLDS) Library during my regular visit to this area since 1977. I think I met Ron about 1988 in his office in the Auditorium. His assistance to me over the years has been valuable and is still greatly appreciated.

Couldn’t have hurt, could it? — the support could only have reinforced their awareness of Ron’s value, since history probably isn’t the most important issue for their church any more than it is for ours. I hadn’t considered until very recently how small an organization they are relative to us, and how much, proportionately, they must dedicate to history as it is, with their presence in Kirtland and Nauvoo and maintaining their archives and an institutional historian. That’s no small commitment.
