Wow – this wintry photo really gave me pause. I think I tend to mentally place the pioneers in perpetual summertime, or something. And so to see this photo of the pioneer sculpture with snow on the ground was a good reminder that it probably wasn’t “often singing and dancing, merry and happy” for them. (And then the juxtaposition of the temple in the background is superb, too.)
