It’s interesting to note that there’s something a bit faddish about recommended approaches to member missionary work: I’ve seen several come and go. The GQs are the earliest one I remember, and that first Funny Bone sounds familiar. I may have even read it way back when I was a boy. It still brought a chuckle.

Michelle, the so-called Mormon “Golden Questions”: “How much do you know about the Mormon church? Would you like to know more?” (Has the Golden Question thing gone by the wayside in favor of more current shticks? It was such a common thing when I was a missionary that we referred to street contacting as “GQ-ing.”)
