Ardis,
You have such a gift for writing. I loved the story about your mom. It touched me deeply!!

Ardis,

I find this very interesting. I am a "Parshall", a cousin and I periodically look up the name to see what we can find and to search out family members. We know we had/have family in Salt Lake. We live on the East coast in New York. Perhaps we could get in touch. Nice writing.
Thanks, Karlene

Thanks for this, Ardis.

A couple of comments: I loved the detailed description of the dilly bread demonstration. How inspired.

And I love that piano anecdote survived through the years; it is heart-warming to me to know that perhaps some of the subtle and almost forgettable things we do may actually be remembered.

And the image of Bernice placing her hands on her great-grandchild's head gave me chills.

I can't add anything to what has been said already, but something from your comment jumped out at me:

she was such a successful teacher because she did have so much love.

Amen. That truly is the key.

There is something to writing about ones own family, about people you know, that those of us who write about people we never met can never duplicate. You've showed us your mother in a way no ordinary biographer could. Thank you.

Michelle is right, you sure can write.
