I really only posted this one because there was a little discussion earlier about Friberg’s ability to draw horses — better than the average 12-year-old here, but hardly hinting at what he would eventually learn.
I do like the way he has drawn the fleecy chaps, though. Those few pencil marks really establish both the bulk and the texture.

Where are the ripped abs and bulging muscles (Arnold Schwarzenegger physique) on the cowboy? That must come along later, too.
Steve C, they’re implied by those comic-book-character jaw lines, neck veins, and bulky upper arms encased in the (bias-cut) plaid shirt. Looks like he took some lessons from Remington here.
